Tips for an Earthquake

What to do before an Earthquake:

We must always be prepared in the case of an earthquake by learning our surroundings, especially within a building. We can practice this during earthquake drills, which can be hosted by our private group or a government agency for people to learn how to survive and what to do in the event of an earthquake.

Always remember the "Duck Cover and Hold" procedure for our own safety. During an earthquake, we can shelter under tables and chairs to avoid being hit by falling debris. Always keep calm and run outside. When individuals are close to the door, we can use it to grasp onto during an earthquake, but if the door is made of glass, stay away from it. Anything with a glass should be avoided since it can break into smaller bits that are dangerous and can cause serious injury to ourselves.

What to do after an Earthquake:

Always go to the nearest exit of your location, whether it's your house, mall or school, and go to an open field while protecting your head, because every building in the area is still dangerous. Finally, don't go near the place you just left and wait for a few minutes or hours to ensure the establishment is okay; never assume that the establishment is safe after an earthquake; always act quickly and don't panic in order to survive.
